When designing your web site remember that you are not specifically designing the layout the same way you would do for print. A good way to design your site is to have a small headline with some text then a link in the text to give the user the option of reading on more if the wish. A good example would be the CNN websit. This way your giving the typical user the option of scanning your website for the information they require. Designing your site is all about giving your user what they want , otherwise they will have no purpose to visit and re3turn to your website. It always best to update your site and add extra content , this way when your user returns they are not bored by the same content they saw on their last visit . If you have detailed experience in a trade you may have the option of writing content specific to that trade or industry, add features into your site such as polls ,questionares, polictical opinion and news features also anding a blog can create a community for your site
