Design Portfolio: When working in any design industry , you will find that you may loose oppourtunities of work such as fulltime jobs or contract jobs due to you having no portfolio. In web design it is best to have a live portfolio online. What this means is that you should have websites online with real domains . Companies that are looking to recruit fulltime staff want people with experience and contract work that you completed on your own is considered experience . If you are starting out you ought to take up on family offers or offers from friends looking for a website to be built. This way you will have a live portfolio , the other way is to do some advertising and delivering leaflets, hand out business cards etc. etc.
